That our Apps work is not near enough - they have to be the works.



OUR TYPICAL APP DESIGN PROCESS INVOLVES THE FOLLOWING PHASES:



KIck off and scope review





To commence with, we typically conduct a Kick Off and Scope Review. After closely studying the information within our client’s Information Brief, we conduct a Kick Off Teleconference where the scope of the project is reviewed in tandem. After such, we re-evaluate the overall project opportunity to ensure our client's needs and wants are fully met. When the client is happy to approve the final scope of such work, we proceed to develop the project's requirements. This is completed by our team within Internal Stakeholder Workshops. The results of these requirements are then presented to the client, who when satisfied with such, sign off upon them.

The next stage of the App Design Process is the Production of Wireframes. An important App design tool, a wireframe is a visualisation utensil for presenting proposed functions, structure and content of an App. It separates the graphic elements of an App from the functional elements in such a way that design teams can easily explain how users will interact with the App. After spending the requisite amount of time in-house developing this tool, we present such to the client for review. After taking on board the opinions of our client upon the matter, we re-work these wireframes until a stage is reached where all are happy to proceed.



design concept





The Design Concept Phase shall be the next one we undertake thereafter. Internally, our expert team complete the App's Concept Designs (e.g. choosing the App's predominant colour) before reviewing them together with the client. The necessary amendments are made afterwards, and when satisfied with the end result, are signed off upon.



analysis and technical design





After such, the Analysis and Technical Design Stage of the project commences. Here, the Doctot team create a Design Functional Specification document, which articulates how the app works, including its user journeys. Once again, the client is invited to give their opinion on it, and once happy to move onwards, it is signed off upon.



development





The Development Phase follows, which includes:

- App Coding

- App User Interface Design

- App Development Management


The client is also invited to review the code at this point in time, if so interested.



unit and system testing





Following the Development Phase is the Unit and System Testing Phase. Central to this is Unit Testing, System Integration Testing and Performance Testing. These tests are performed by Doctot's programming team and by independent medical industry Quality Assurance testers.



user acceptance testing





Upon completion, the User Acceptance Testing Phase can begin. Here, the client is offered the opportunity to co-test the App. Provided with a document from Doctot to aid them, the client is invited to evaluate the App's Performance, Accessibility and

Usability. To ensure the App is bug-free, we typically perform 3 separate rounds of UAT. When the client is satisfied that such has been wholly achieved, they are invited to sign off upon the App.



deployment and delivery





The Deployment and Delivery Phase next takes place. This includes further Content Population of the App, something that the client once again has full permission to review. User Documentation is also prepared and is presented to the client for use going forward. If requested, Doctot shall also create App Store accounts on behalf of the client, as well as uploading the various Apps upon them. Being more than just a mere Design firm, Doctot offer a diverse range of post-launch services to ensure the client's every need is fulfilled.
